A Bit of Show and Tell

Another spring thing that creeps up on me is the semi-annual Stitch-Away retreat in Weatherford.  It's such a wonderful little after tax season vacation.  This year we got up at 3:00 am and sat in our pajamas drinking tea, eating scones, and wearing tiaras.  Why, you ask?  The "Royal Wedding" of course!!  What a great time it was.  I don't have any pictures of that part, sorry.

Part of the weekend is an exchange of a stitched item.  Here's a little pin keep I made for the exchange:

I received the most AWESOME pincushion.  This picture just doesn't do it justice, it so beautiful.  It's about 8" long by 3" wide and filled with ground walnut shells.

I love spring-time!

That is a lovely pin cushion. How sad to learn that the lady who made it was so ill. I have a quilt that was made for me by a group of ladies who were members of a craft forum that I belonged to once. They all did quilting except me, and they made me a small quilt just so I could have the pleasure of owning one! It is gorgeous, and even more special because one of those ladies died from liver cancer not long after she did her piece of my quilt.
You never mention your finches any more! How are they going? We have about 20 Gouldian Finches now - they are breeding well, even in winter!
