Just Checking In

Yes, I'm still here!  I've been taking a big break from blogging, facebook, and other computer things that were using up time (not wasting, mind you, just using).  I am amazed at how much I accomplished.  I organized closets, spruced up bathrooms, had a houseful of family at Christmas time, took stuff to Goodwill, and even read a book!  Now tax season is starting so I might not post again for awhile, but here's some stuff I've been up to.

The book I read was "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana de Rosnay.  It was wonderful! I highly recomment it.

I was down sick the week after Christmas.  I knitted and watched the movie "Young Victoria" about 8 times!  I'm knitting an afghan for myself (really).  I'm doing simple garter stitch squares and will sew them together.  Here's what I have so far.

Bob and I took a day and went to a great antique mall.  There was so much cool stuff, I wanted to buy everything.  I was frugal - all I bought was this 25 cent card of old  buttons.  But I love these buttons!  They'll embellish some handmade pincushion I imagine.

I worked some on my Long Dog sampler.  Here's an update:

Oh, and here's a shameless plug:  I've also been working on liquidating my Berri Patch inventory on ebay.  I have 99 great bargains out there.  If you want to take a look:  http://shop.ebay.com/berripatch/m.html End of commercial!

Hope all of my blogging friends are doing well.  I'll get caught up with my blog reading pretty soon.  Happy stitching!

"End of commercial"...funny!

So glad to see some update! I know what you mean about those computers using time! Happens to me a lot! I can imagine that you are quite busy now and will get even busier. Hubby always does our taxes , thank God!!

Love that afghan!! You are using very nice colors. Don't you just hate pulling in all those ends? I know I sure do!!

Your afghan is going to be lovely! I agree with you how much time the computer takes. It's hard to break away. Don't forget to take care of yourself during tax season!

Pretty, pretty! Your afghan will be so nice and cozy, and your sampler is gorgeous! Don't you love to find old buttons? I love using them in needlework projects.

How nice to see you here after so long, Sherri! I guess we can all relate to our computers being time-wasters, even though we get so much good from them. The afghan is looking lovely, and your sampler is stunning. Can I ask a dumb question? Why is it called a Long Dog sampler?
Ken wants to know how your Zebras (finches) are going. We have a nice flock of Gouldian finches now.
